Four Tips to Get Prepared for a Divorce Mediation

|

When you are going through a divorce, before you would have to go to a final trial, you will most likely be ordered to go to mediation. A divorce mediation will allow you to have more control over the outcome of the case, and you are encouraged to do so when possible.

Today, Mr. Monahan, a managing partner at Turner-Monahan PLLC, is going to give you four (4) tips to prepare for your divorce mediation.

Here are four tips to get prepared for a mediation when you’re dealing with marriage dissolution:

#1 Tip

Not to worry and make sure that you’re calm and stay collected.

#2 Tip

You want to have an attorney there that’s representing you.

The attorney will be there to look out for your best interest. They will also look out for your children’s best interests if you have children involved.

#3 Tip

Make sure you have a really good understanding of what assets you have, how you think you want those to be divided, and also have a good idea of what type of parenting plan you want to have after the finalization of the divorce concludes the marriage.

#4 Tip

Again, stay calm, and understand that having a good attorney and somebody being there for you is going to assist you in getting it done.
